My name is Funke, I entered the university at age 21 after applying twice but was not given admission. I studied Bio Chemistry and graduated at 26 without a carry over.

Before I got into the university, I made a strong decision that I will focus on my studies only, and not engage in any relationship.

The reason is because, I didn’t want anything that would distract me from my studies. So when I graduated I was single.

I got into a relationship immediately after my NYSC. I taught it was going to end in Marriage, but after 4 years the whole thing ended. By then I was already 30 and time was against me.

It was a very painful experience because I even had an abortion for this man. He claimed that he had a strong feeling that we’re not meant to be. You know those kind of excuse they give, you can imagine after 4 years.

It took me about 10 months to be able to recover from the pain, it was a relationship I cherished so much, I had so much expectations for it.

By age 31 I got into another one with this man that worked in a bank. We dated for 3 years and in my mind, I was praying that he propose so that I can also settle down like some of my friends.

One day we went out as usual, and I notice that he wasn’t looking happy, so I asked him what was wrong and he told me…

“Funke, I don’t know how to tell you this, but my parents are not in support of this relationship and I cannot go against their will.”

It was like a dream, I couldn’t believe what I just heard, should I shout or laugh? I became confused, sweat started gushing out of my face, I didn’t know when I started crying.

He took me home and I couldn’t sleep that night, I cried so much that my eyes were red and swollen. I felt like dying because the pain of watching my mates getting married and giving birth to children, while I kept going through heart breaks was just too much for me to bear.

I felt like taking my life so that I could rest. I looked at my self in the mirror one day and I asked myself what was wrong with me, another relationship of 3 years gone, I was already 34.

I began to wonder if every guy that comes my ways is just interested in getting into my pant and going away. That was not what I wanted, all I wanted was commitment from a real and serious man, not “Eat And Go” men.

I had to put myself together because I knew that as long as there is life there is hope.

There was even a time I did chief brides maid to my friends 4 times in one year. I was doing that but deep inside my heart I was crying and saying when will my own day come?

After the second incident, I vowed not to open my legs to anybody again except the man that marries me.

I needed an urgent solution, so I had to turn to God for help since men failed me, I started a 7 days fasting and prayers, it was not easy but I had no choice than to do it. That was my first time of fasting for more than 3 days.

Within the 7 days, I was able to learn so many things from the Bible, I discovered the working principles any lady can follow and get married from the story of 3 ladies in the bible.

The women are Ruth , Rachel and Rebekah . These women were single for a long time but finally got married to the most successful men of their time.

I knew the bible will not lie, so I made a strong decision to follow these powerful steps that these women followed, I believed that what I read was true and I began to apply them.

7 months later, I got married to a very successful man, a very caring, loving and godly person. As far as I am concerned, he’s the best husband on earth. He’s truly a God Sent.

It was after I got married that I realized getting married to the RIGHT MAN is not by beauty, BUT by knowing God’s methods and following the methods.

Now I am happily married, and my marriage is blessed with three kids. Glory be to God!
