Gov. Wike escapes alleged assassination attempt

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, on Saturday, November 11, clashed with alleged officials of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and soldiers reportedly in the motorcade of Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, the transport minister.

Simeon Nwakaudu, the governor’s spokesperson, in a statement claimed that Wike, who was on project inspection, was attacked at Nwanja Junction on Trans-Amadi Road.

“The SARS personnel and soldiers in the minister's convoy hit down the governor's escort rider and attacked the policemen in the pilot car.
