Corps Lawyers /Legal Officers Workshop






National Youth Service Corps in conjunction with Legal Officers/Corps Lawyers held a workshop themed National Youth Service Corps and the Administration of Justice in Nigeria,which held at Idrinana Ultimate Comfort Hotel, Lokogoma, Phase 2 Lokoja, Kogi State on the 12th of October,2017.

The workshop kicked off with a welcome address by the Director, Legal Services, Barrister Tijani Ibrahim.

He welcomed distinguished guests to the opening ceremony of the Legal Officers/Corps Lawyers Workshop, he went further to welcome our special guest, our amiable Director-General Brig. SZ Kazaure to the ceremony, he also welcomed the State Co-ordinator,Deputy and Assistant Directors, and all staff of NYSC.

The workshop which is the 7th in the series,was initiated in 2007 with the Maiden Edition held in Minna, Niger Delta.

He stated that the workshop is aimed at bringing together Corps Lawyers serving in different parts of the country in order to brainstorm on their activities with respect to Corps Legal Aid Scheme in the States.

After the welcome address, Cultural group performed wonderfully well before  the guests and everyone present went for a tea break.

Immediately after that, Prof. David Folorunsho Tom of Delta State University gave a resounding lecture on the ROLE OF LAWYERS IN CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LITIGATION, which he ended by answering questions as regards the lecture.

Shortly after the first lecture, Barr. Tijani Ibrahim gave a second lecture on NIGERIAN SOCIETY AND RULE OF LAW,  where he further illustrated the reasons every Lawyer's altitude. He also ended his lecture by entertaining questions.

After the lecture segment, lunch was served after which closing remark was said with a closing prayer before everyone dispatched to their various destinations.
