Wilder taunts Joshua

Deontay Wilder has taunted Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua, as a potential heavyweight unification fight between the two is yet to be confirmed.

In a video posted on social media, Wilder insisted he called Hearn’s and Joshua’s bluff when the American offered $50 million to face Anthony Joshua to fight to unify the heavyweight belts.

While Wilder agreed to terms offered by Joshua’s camp last Monday, to fight in the United Kingdom — with Shelly Finkel stating that the target date was Sept. 15, Hearn insisted on Thursday that due to the Canelo Alvarez-Gennady Golovkin fight happening on the same night, the likely date for the heavyweight bout would be in October or November.

That has led Wilder firing back a message to Hearn and Joshua — who previously said he would fight the American for $50 million — in which Wilder makes reference to calling their bluff regarding the $50 million offer.

“Guess what?” the subtitled video begins. “Eddie said, ‘Tell them you’ll take $50 million to fight and their team will for sure back out and we will stay relevant because $50m, they can’t cope with that.”

“Deontay and [his] team agreed to pay and presented the money. The look on Eddie’s face though. Priceless.Just priceless.

“Guess what? They turned down the money. They made another excuse. Tell me … Tell me. How the hell do you say no to $50m cash?”

The drawn-out negotiations have threatened to lead to Joshua fighting [mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin first, which would see Wilder face the Briton afterward.

How UK helps us seize looted assets —FG

The Federal Government has given an insight into how it gets the assistance of the United Kingdom to seize properties and other assets linked to funds allegedly stolen from the Nigerian treasury.

It said under the existing mutual legal assistance agreement and treaties, the UK also “helps us to prosecute suspects who commit crimes against Nigeria.”

Nigeria also offered such legal assistance to the UK when faced with such request, the Federal Government stated in a court paper filed before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja.

Properties linked to the immediate-past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke in the UK have been seized by the foreign country’s court under the existing mutual assistance laws.

Diezani has, since 2015, been under criminal investigation in the UK for alleged offences including money laundering which she was accused of committing while in office.

The Federal Government detailed how the mutual legal agreement laws worked in its response to an application raised by an alleged Diezani’s ally, Benedict Peters,  challenging the seizure of some foreign and Nigerian-based properties linked to the ex-minister.

The orders for interim forfeiture of the properties on the account of the ongoing investigation of Diezani were made on April 13 and 29, 2016 by the Federal High Court in Abuja and on October 19, 2017, by the Crown Court in Southwark, UK.

The interim forfeiture orders prohibited the disposal of the assets in Nigeria and in the UK pending the conclusion of ongoing investigations into allegations against the ex-minister, on whose behalf investigators believed Peters and his companies acted.

But Peters and three of his companies – Collinwood Limited, Rosewood Investment Limited and Walworth Properties – had, on December 29, 2017, filed the suit marked, FCT/HC/CV/0536/17, seeking to set aside the orders of interim forfeiture in respect to some of the seized properties.

But the AGF office said in response that only the UK government could challenge its
appearance for the foreign government and its agencies.

The AGF office added that its appearance for the UK in the case was covered under the ‘Treaty Series No.18(1994)’ and the ‘Agreement between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria concerning the Investigation and Prosecution of Crime and the Confiscation of the Proceeds of Crime.’

It also cited the ‘Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters within the Commonwealth (Enact and Enforcement) Act’ to back its appearance for the UK government.

The AGF’s lawyer, Mr. Tijani Gazali, argued, “Thus the Federal Government of Nigeria has the power under this Act to consult the government of the United Kingdom for legal assistance as regards identifying and locating criminal offenders, examination of witnesses, search and seizure of assets, etc in relation to identifying and obtaining proceeds of crime.

“We further submit that it was within the duties of the United Kingdom authorities and their agents, including but not limited to the 3rd to the 7th defendants to act as requested and provide necessary evidence, witnesses and even prosecute the matter in as much as they have the authority to do so from the Federal Government of Nigeria.”

Gazali added that failure of the AGF office “to protect the interest of the United Kingdom and its agents will be disregarding the mutual agreement laws set in place to promote cooperation to fight crime in both countries.”

Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the FCT High Court in Apo, Abuja, had in a ruling on June 11, 2018, upheld the argument of the AGF office and dismissed the plaintiffs’ objection to the appearance of the office’s appearance for the UK agencies and agents.

Justice Adeniyi fixed June 22 for further hearing.

Buhari rules out meeting with nPDP members

President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that he will never sit down for discussion with the aggrieved members of the defunct new Peoples Democratic Party that joined forces to form the ruling All Progressives Congress.

A top government official disclosed this to journalists on the condition of anonymity on Monday.

The source said Buhari had conveyed his position on the matter to state governors elected on the platform of the APC during a meeting he had with them recently.

The President was said to have insisted that state governors and the national leaders of the party should be able to resolve such issues.

He said the issue was a party matter and he was not ready to sit with any faction.

“It is a party matter. I am not ready to sit down with any faction. If they have problems, they should go to the party. I will not interfere.

“Governors as party leaders in the states should deal with all issues. Where there is a need, the party leadership can come in. I will not get involved,” Buhari was quoted to have told the APC governors.

He was, however, said to have agreed that the contact started by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo should continue.

The source also added that opinions were divided on the issue among the governors that attended the meeting.

“Some hard-line governors asked the President to ignore the nPDP members while the majority felt the party and the VP should continue to talk to them,” the source added.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, could not be reached on the telephone for comment as of the time of filing this report.

But the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; a former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso (Kano-Central); and Senator Shehu Sani (Kaduna-Central), who are part of the aggrieved APC members, could not be reached for comments on Monday night.

Several calls made to Sani and Saraki’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Yusuph Olaniyonu, were not answered and they had yet to reply to messages sent to them as of the time of filing this report.

When contacted, an aide to Kwankwaso, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said his principal was out of the country and was not aware of the position taken by the President on the crisis.

He said, “I think what you should do is to get the response from the Chairman of the nPDP,  Alhaji Kawu Baraje. My boss has travelled out of the country and I can’t say anything about it. He has not heard anything like that.”

The nPDP had earlier in May issued a seven-day ultimatum to President Buhari to address grievances of alleged marginalisation and persecution of its members.

The ultimatum was contained in a letter sent to the President by the chairman of the defunct nPDP,  Baraje and the secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

It was sent to the President through the office of the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

The nPDP bloc expressed dismay that despite significant contributions they made in the emergence of Buhari as the winner of the 2015 Presidential election, they had been sidelined by the government.

Specifically, they claimed that members of their group were denied juicy appointments while those who got top positions in the National Assembly were being allegedly persecuted by the Federal Government.

Saraki and the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, are prominent members of the nPDP bloc of the APC.

Saraki is facing prosecution for alleged false asset declaration charges at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

The President had earlier mandated a national leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu, to reconcile all aggrieved members while Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo had met with the leadership of the nPDP members to resolve the crisis. Both efforts have been futile with the nPDP leadership insisting on meeting with the President.

Foods that can help to eliminate eczema

Eczema or atopic dermatitis is a condition that causes a person to develop patches of dry, itchy skin on their body. It often develops as a result of inflammation in the body. Eating foods that do not cause inflammation may help reduce symptoms.

While no cure exists, over-the-counter creams and drugs that can help to reduce inflammation are available. Sometimes, a doctor may recommend avoiding foods known to make eczema worse.

Some foods may trigger the release of the cells that cause inflammation, as well as immunoglobulin-E or IgE, which is an antibody that the body produces in response to a threat. Foods that contribute to inflammation include nuts, milk, and wheat.

Foods to eat

For people with eczema, eating certain foods can trigger the body to release immune system compounds that cause inflammation, which, in turn, contributes to an eczema flare-up. An anti-eczema diet is similar to an anti-inflammatory diet.

Fish: This is a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids that can fight inflammation in the body. Examples of fish high in omega-3s include salmon, albacore tuna, mackerel, sardines, and herring.

Foods high in probiotics: They are bacteria that promote good gut health. Examples include yoghurt with live and active cultures, miso soup, and tempeh. Other fermented foods and drinks, such as kefir, kombucha, and sauerkraut, also contain probiotics.

Foods high in inflammation: They are also known as fighting flavonoids. Examples include colourful fruits and vegetables, such as apples, broccoli, cherries, spinach, and kale.

Eating more of these foods and cutting down on any trigger foods could help to reduce eczema flare-ups.

Those to avoid

Food-sensitive eczema reactions will typically occur between six and 24 hours after a person eats a particular food. Sometimes, these reactions may be delayed.

To determine what foods may be causing the reaction, a doctor will often recommend an elimination diet. This diet involves avoiding some of the most common foods known to cause eczema.

Before eliminating any foods, a person will need to slowly add each food type into their diet and monitor their eczema for four to six weeks to determine if they are sensitive to any particular food.

If a person’s symptoms get worse after adding a particular food to the diet, they may wish to consider avoiding it in the future. If a person’s symptoms do not improve when eliminating a food, they probably do not need to remove it from their diet.

Some common foods that may trigger an eczema flare-up and could be removed from a diet include:

Citrus fruits, dairy, eggs, gluten or wheat, soya bean and spices such as vanilla, cloves, cinnamon, tomatoes and some types of nuts.

A doctor may also recommend allergy testing. Even if a person is not allergic to a particular food, they may have sensitivity to it and could experience skin symptoms after repeat exposure. Doctors call this reaction food responsive eczema.

People with dyshidrotic eczema, which typically affects the hands and feet, may experience benefits from eating foods that do not contain nickel. Nickel is found in trace amounts in the soil and can, therefore, be present in foods.

Foods that are high in nickel include:

Beans, black tea, canned meats, chocolate, lentils, nuts, peas, seeds, shellfish and soya beans.

Some people with eczema also have oral allergy syndrome or sensitivity to birch pollen. This means they may have reactions to other foods, including: green apples, carrot, celery, hazelnuts, pears.

People with eczema are more prone to oral allergy syndrome and should speak to their doctor if they have a pollen allergy or experience mild allergic reactions to the above foods.

Carbon dioxide reduces belly fat – Study

Scientists have identified a new technique that eliminates stomach fat with the first randomised, controlled trial testing of carbon dioxide gas injections.

A report published in the Northwestern Medicine noted that the changes were modest and did not result in long-term fat reduction.

The lead author and the vice-chair of dermatology at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Murad Alam, said, “Carboxytherapy could potentially be a new and effective means of fat reduction. It still needs to be optimised. So, it is long lasting.”

The paper was published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology described the new technique as a “safe, inexpensive gas, and injecting it into fat pockets may be preferred by patients who like natural treatments.”

According to sciencedaily.com, the current technologies routinely used for non-invasive fat reduction include cryolipolysis, high intensity ultrasound, radiofrequency, chemical adipocytolysis and laser-assisted fat reduction.

The new technique, known as Carboxytherapy, has been performed primarily outside the United States, with a few clinical studies suggesting that it may provide a lasting improvement in abdominal contours.

The study claimed that no randomised controlled trials for carboxytherapy efficacy and benefit over time had been previously conducted. The purpose of the study was to assess the effectiveness of carboxytherapy for fat reduction in a randomised, controlled trial and to determine if any observed benefits persisted for six months.

The study consisted of 16 adults who were not overweight and were randomised to get weekly carbon dioxide gas injections to one side of their abdomens and a sham treatment on the other side once a week for five weeks. A high-resolution ultrasound detected a reduction in superficial fat after five weeks, but not at 28 weeks. The patients’ body weight did not change over the course of the study.

“The fact that the difference was not maintained at six months suggests that the treatment stimulated a temporary metabolic process that reduced the size of fat cells without inducing cell death.

“If carboxytherapy can provide prolonged benefits, it offers patients yet another noninvasive option for fat reduction. But we don’t feel it’s ready for prime time,” Alam said.

We’re surprised our victim died, say one-chance robbers who hit passenger with hammer

Police operatives attached to the Federal Capital Territory Command Special Anti-Kidnaping Squad have arrested five members of an armed robbery gang that robbed unsuspecting passengers in their taxi.

The suspects, Ebuka Ezeanyido, 28; Chidebe Okocha, 36; Chukwuma Amichie, 30; Augustine Agbo, 32; and Chinedu Obi, 25, were arrested following investigation into the disappearance of one Michael Ibebuogu who was reported missing by members of his family.

Ibebuogu was said to have left his brother’s house at Apo, Abuja for Suleja, Niger State on May 27, 2018 but never arrived at his destination.

The missing man’s phone was however traced to one of the suspects who led detectives to arrest his accomplices.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Sadiq Bello, who paraded the suspects in Abuja on Thursday, explained that Okocha confessed that he hit Ibebuogu on his head with a hammer when he tried to take control of their operational car from the driver.

“The suspects said they abandoned his body under Apo Bridge. Efforts are ongoing to recover the remains of the deceased. The operational car used by the gang, an army green Volkswagen Passat Wagon, one hammer and phone of the deceased have been recovered as exhibits,” Bello stated.

Ezeanyido, who said he was a taxi driver before he joined the robbery gang said, “I and my friend, Okocha came to Abuja, so we picked the man in our cab. When the man noticed that we wanted to rob him, he started dragging the steering with the driver; so this brother (Agbo) hit him on the shoulder with a hammer and we stopped the cab and allowed him to go, but he was not dead when we left him.”

Okocha claimed he was doing business at Wuse market, Abuja but decided to join the robbery gang after he had issues with some people.

Narrating how the gang operated, he said that they usually robbed one person at a time in their taxi.

He said, “We usually pick a passenger and while driving, the driver would ask him to put on his seatbelt while magic finger (Agbo) would cleverly snatch the victim’s money or phone.

“So the man (Ibebuogu) noticed what was happening and he attempted to take over the steering, I hit him with a hammer on his shoulder and wrist, we stopped the cab and he disembarked; we were surprised to hear that he died,” Okocha said.

Agbo who was responsible for picking the victim’s pocket or bag claimed he joined the gang about three months ago, adding that he had robbed only four persons.

“I just started robbing about three months, I have robbed just three or four persons,” he stated.

The police also revealed that they have arrested one Kasimu Yakubu at Ankpa, Kogi State and recovered an Abuja coloured taxi Volkswagen Golf car with registration number ABJ 447 ES which was earlier reported snatched from its owner around Apo at gunpoint.

“The suspect revealed that his syndicate specialised in snatching cars from Abuja and selling them to ready buyers in Kogi State. Effort is being intensified to arrest other members of the gang and recover the arms used for the robbery operation,” Bello said.

A big stomach is bad for your health

When we were growing up, it was fashionable to hear our parents refer to some of their friends and colleagues as people who exuded comfort and good health by putting on some weight. In fact, those who failed to gain weight as expected were derided as not having arrived. Among the people of Cross River, this was taken a step further when young women ready for marriage were taken into fattening rooms to be pampered so that they could gain weight. Weight gain was equated with respect. And while perceptions today have radically changed, such changes in thinking are absolutely reinforced by the weight of current knowledge and endorsed by many years of research work conducted across several countries. The verdict is in: a big abdomen is injurious to your health. And this fact is not limited to the men only; women, who have a large abdomen, particularly after the menopause, are similarly prone to the diseases associated with a large abdomen. A big abdominal girth is therefore injurious to your health if not immediately, then certainly in the long run.

The size of the abdomen is somewhat beyond what you might see when the person takes off their clothing. It is the visceral fat, the pad or apron that embraces the internal organs that is the real culprit here. However, it must be emphasised that the volume of the visceral fat has a bearing on the eventual size of the abdomen. When you have a waist-line that exceeds 40 inches (101.6 centimeters) as a man and more than 35 inches (88.9 centimeters) as a woman, you are very prone to some of the most profound disease conditions you can care to name. These are first, the series of changes called collectively as the metabolic syndrome during which state a person is resistant to insulin, becomes sedentary and gains weight rapidly. These developments ultimately cause the person to develop a high level of cholesterol in the blood, to develop heart disease and hypertension and also to succumb to diabetes. To be sure, this is not the lot of everyone who fits this description but they certainly make you far more prone to them. Furthermore, such people are far more likely to develop certain types of dementia and also become fair game for some types of cancer. Breast and colon cancers are most frequently linked with obesity.

The reasons for these changes in the composition of the body are not far to seek. The stored fat in the abdomen becomes a huge metabolic engine of its own, secreting various hormones in such a manner as to cause a persistent kind of inflammation that perpetually puts some cells in the body into overdrive. The result is a situation in which the said amount of fat can be used as a predictor of some types of cancers, insulin resistance, and adult-onset diabetes also called Type 2 diabetes and heart disease. In men, such accumulation of fat typically forms around the abdomen. In women, similar fat accumulates around the arms, hips and thighs. After the menopause is reached, such fat is also now deposited around the abdomen just like in men. This is believed to be caused by a relative increase in the amount of testosterone that women produce at a time when the production in men is lessening. In some ways, at this stage of life, both sexes will look alike unclad. They look like an apple, somewhat thick in the middle. This happens because the visceral fat, lying under the skin, eventually pushes out against the skin and causes it to bulge at the sides and in front.

If you do nothing else today to protect your health, you should endeavour to take an honest measurement of your waist. Stand upright, breathe out and take a measurement of your waist at about one or two finger-breaths above the hip bones. Do not do the opposite by trying hard to breathe inwards in order to flatten your abdomen; you will merely be deceiving yourself. The good news is that you do not even have to be overweight or obese to face the risks named above. People of normal body weight have been known to habour such amounts of harmful fat because they have accumulated it all over a period of time. The worse news is that this is not the kind of fat you can burn off simply by seeking to tone up your abdominal muscles with sit-ups and press-ups. Weight loss that is ultimately of benefit is the one that is comprehensive enough to include serious routine exercise and changes in diet from a high carbohydrate, high dairy diet that is rich in meat to one rich in whole grain meal and vegetables garnished with fish and white meat. Activities like walking, swimming and riding are the sure ways to get rid of such fat.

The finding is astonishing to say the least; that the more muscle bulk you have, the more fat you are likely to burn. What this adds up to is that when you engage in exercises that build up your muscle mass, you tend to burn more calories even at rest than those people who have less of such muscle buildup. As an extension, whenever you work in a high-rise building, it is beneficial to your heart and body to take the stairs rather than the lift. The elevator proves in the end to be a lazy way to move from one floor to another and it adds up in the end to the fat we build up around the abdomen. If you can imagine the “Paris Batman” who sprang from one floor to the next across the front of a high-rise apartment block in Paris last month to save a four-year-old boy dangling from a balcony, you would vote for muscle over fat. I am sure many people would wish they could do so. It is not magic. In a way, it is training and everyone without significant systemic disease can do it. That is a fact when you consider that last week, a Chinese veteran similarly did that batman stunt to save another four-year-old old boy dangling from a balcony in Guangdong. No man with such an apron of fat could have performed such a feat.

Ask the doctor

Dear doctor, please I have a medical issue that demands your advice. I am 45 years old and have been married for six years now without an issue. My wife has twice been pregnant but lost both pregnancies early in the East where we live. Both of us did tests and were treated together for an infection. In March this year, I repeated the tests and was told that I have a low sperm count. The count was 20 million and about 70 per cent of the sperms were dead. What is possibly responsible for this? What do we do? Thank you and God bless. 0802xxxxxxx

Thank you very much for your prayers. The causes of this kind of problem are multiple. Often, there is usually a bacterial infection that may be responsible. At other times, some prior infection in the testes may be to blame such as mumps during the teenage years or tuberculosis in childhood. Occasionally, a malady known as varicocoele may be responsible. All of these problems have peculiar ways of confirming which one is the problem and that will help determine the sort of treatment you should be getting. To map the way forward for you and your wife, you should perhaps see a fertility expert. A count of 20 million is considered a borderline low figure. With 70 per cent dead sperms, you are far below par in terms of successfully impregnating your spouse and it is the correction of these statistics that attention should focus on.

Dear doctor, I have an eight-month-old baby with severe cold. There is no cough. Sleep is bad because I think the nostrils are blocked for much of the night. I have been using piriton syrup and vitamin C syrup as well as erythromycin syrup. Now there was an improvement at some time in the recent past but it has become bad again since the week began. Earlier this year, she develops some reddish marks on her body that appear and vanish after some time. When I scratch the spots, she calms down and stops crying. What should we do about this? 0802xxxxxxx

When your baby suffers from this kind of problem it is possible that she has an allergy of some sort. Reddish skin lesions that appear and disappear quickly may be part of a complex of features called urticaria. If you scratch these spots and your baby seems to be at peace as a result, then it is likely to be the case. Even though I am often reticent to prescribe medications on this page, I would advise that you try your baby on a medication called Loratadine at a small dose of 5milligrams once a day and that should both clear the nostrils and also help the skin lesions to disappear. If they persist despite this addition to what you are currently giving, then you should see a paediatrician.

Dear doctor, I am 25 years old and a mother of a six-year-old. I always find a thick, white substance coming out of my private part and I am unable to conceive. I have been experiencing this now for the past two years. Please sir, what is the solution to my problem? I am getting tired. Thank you sir.  0816xxxxxxx

Thank you very much for that question. Several similar questions were asked in the past one week and I hope this singular response satisfies all of them. The discharge you see may or may not have a bearing to your inability to get pregnant again. And just like the others, there is no indication in your question that you have been to see a doctor. That is where you should begin. You must get examined, and have swabs taken of the discharge and get treated based on the results obtained. After each cycle of treatment, you will need to go back to your doctor for a repeat investigation and this will have to be done in a cyclical fashion until the infection is clear. With that out the way, it will then be possible to undertake some other investigations not previously possible because an infection was present and all these singularly or together will ultimately help show the way to finding a solution to your problem. Good luck.

Dear doctor, kindly advise me on the kind of doctor to see for a person with a brain disorder in Ondo State. Thank you.  0703xxxxxxx

First of all, you do not have to go directly to any such doctor wherever it is within the country that you live in and I do not know any such specialist in Ondo State. Please take the person in question to any of the state specialist hospitals in Ondo State so that any of the doctors can examine the person and reach a diagnosis. Once this is done, they will be in the best position to refer your relative appropriately to the specialist doctor you must consult. That is how the referral system works. As for me, I am not able to give you any such contacts.

Dear doctor, I have seen the work you are doing. Please keep it up. I need help. I am having pain on my down part (I assume lower abdomen). It all started yesterday because I was dwelling on sexual thoughts and I began to have pains to the extent I could not walk again. What could be the cause? I would love to know. Thank you. 0812xxxxxxx

When you have sexual thoughts in a vivid manner as it was with you, your imagination runs wild and you can have an erection. That is perfectly normal; but when such an erection is unrelieved and those thoughts persist, the penis does not relax back to its normal state and the sustained nature of the erection you then have can become painful. That kind of pain is what you had. It will throb in step with your heart beat and will be quite uncomfortable. The treatment is to banish those thoughts from your mind. A cold bath could also be helpful.

Dear doctor, I am a boy of 15 years old. Is it normal for someone’s penis to be curved to the left when it is erect? I also noticed that as it curves to the right, there is also a small bump on the right making it more curved. Will surgery be the best answer? 0703xxxxxxx

I must say that most penises are curved one way or the other. A penis is seldom straight. That said, however, when it gets to be curved in the manner you have explained and there is in addition a bump on the opposite side, it is likely a circumcision injury. The best thing for you to do in the circumstance is to see a paediatric surgeon or a urological surgeon. Either of these experts will examine you and help determine what needs to be done depending on how mild or severe the problem is. The clearest way to see them is to have an assessment from your family doctor who will then refer you as appropriate. So surgery may not necessarily be the best answer.

Dear doctor, you are quite appreciated for your educative column.Your fountain of knowledge and wisdom will not run dry in Jesus name. A brother of mine was diagnosed as a carrier of Hepatitis who won’t need treatment as he is just a carrier. This is already affecting his marriage plans as he is finding it difficult to get a medical report to that effect stating clearly that he is a carrier who will not require any treatment. The medical report is required to convince his fiancĂ© before the marriage plans are consummated. Please what do you advise? 0903xxxxxxx

Amen; thank you very much for your prayers. Results like this must be interpreted with great care. A carrier status does not mean he cannot transmit the virus and to that extent, no doctor would give you the kind of medical report you are seeking. However, hepatitis A can be treated to the point of cure such that a person is unable to transmit the virus and so is hepatitis C. The latter is very expensive to treat but then so is hepatitis B. The level of infectivity is dependent on whether it is the surface or core antigen such a person is found to be reactive to. In order to clear any ambiguity, take your brother to any of the teaching hospitals or federal medical centres of big general hospitals around the country. If you are in Lagos or Ogun, you could also go to the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Yaba, for a proper determination of his status.
